An AI scribe changes who types the consultation note. It does not change who is responsible for it. This is a process guide, written from how CuraVerto's scribe works: what a doctor should check before a drafted note is saved, who signs it, and what the patient should be told first. It makes no claim about how accurate any scribe's draft is. That is something to test on your own recordings, not to take from a vendor.

What the scribe actually hands the doctor

It drafts. It does not diagnose and it does not recommend treatment.

The scribe fills in
  • Symptoms, diagnosis, medications, vitals, lab orders, follow-up and advice, plus case sheet sections
  • In an IVF visit, antral follicle counts for each ovary and semen analysis values
Stays with the embryologist
  • Embryo grading: the scribe has no field for it

The doctor starts the scribe from the visit screen and the transcript appears live while the consultation runs.

Review before you save: seven checks

Check numbers first, then every medication row, then the Review tray, before anything is saved.

  1. 1Numbers firstFollicle counts, semen values, vitals and doses change a plan if wrong. A drafted number is a suggestion until you have seen it.
  2. 2Doses you did not sayA medication row can arrive with defaults filled in: one tablet, 1-0-1, after food, three days. Read every row as if you wrote it yourself.
  3. 3The Review trayItems the scribe was less sure about are held for you to accept or dismiss. Clear the tray before saving.
  4. 4History goes straight to the recordPast medical, surgical, family and social history is added to the standing record as it is extracted, not when the visit is saved.
  5. 5IVF panels have their own saveSemen values are stored only when you press Save there. After the visit, reopen the cycle and confirm the follicle count is stored.
  6. 6The counselling contentSummaries lose things. Check that risks, costs and any deferred decision are in the note in your own words.
  7. 7The transcript is keptIt is saved with the visit, read-only under the appointment's documents, so a later reader can compare it with the note.

What is saved, and when

CuraVerto's scribe fills the form. It does not save the visit.

  1. STEP 1
    The visit
Stored when the doctor saves it, against the doctor selected on that visit.
  2. STEP 2
    History lines
Appended to the standing record as they are extracted.
  3. STEP 3
    Panels with a Save
Store their own values when saved.
  4. STEP 4
    The wallet
Charged as audio is transcribed, so an abandoned visit is still billed for the minutes recorded.

Who signs

Who signs is a clinic decision, and software cannot make it for you.

Write down
  • Who may start the scribe
  • Who may edit the draft
  • Whose name goes on the saved note

Two things in CuraVerto help. An administrator can limit the scribe to named doctors. And where the clinic uses the appointment workflow, a team member can save a visit as a draft for the assigned doctor, and only that designated doctor can approve it, with edits to medications, diagnosis, advice and lab orders. Whether a note meets your medical council's requirements is a question for the council or your adviser, not for a software vendor.

What the patient is told

Before the recording starts, the patient should know four things.

  1. STEP 1
    It is recorded
The consultation audio is being recorded and processed by AI software.
  2. STEP 2
    The doctor checks
The software drafts a note which the doctor checks.
  3. STEP 3
    They can say no
Saying no does not cost them care.
  4. STEP 4
    Who to contact
    Who to contact to withdraw.

CuraVerto records AI scribe processing as its own consent purpose for each patient, separate from treatment record-keeping and from reminders. It starts as not consented and changes only when a yes is recorded. A patient can withdraw that purpose from a link, without calling the front desk.

The notice CuraVerto generates names
  • The clinic
  • The data: consultation audio, clinical notes, symptoms and diagnoses
  • That AI software generates a structured clinical note
  • How to withdraw and whom to contact

Make checking that consent a named step before the doctor presses Start Consultation, and decide who does it. An IVF consultation often has two people in the room, and consent is recorded per patient, so decide how your clinic handles the partner who is not the booked patient.

The audio is not kept by default
Each recorded chunk is deleted from CuraVerto's server once it has been transcribed, and the text transcript is what stays with the visit. Say so to the patient in plain words.

Language, noise and cost

The scribe is set to English, and it is metered at ₹1 a minute from the clinic wallet.

  • ₹1
a minute from the clinic wallet, on top of the plan fee
  • ₹50,000
a year excluding GST: the ART plan that holds IVF cycle records

IVF counselling is often held in more than one language, so decide what happens to the part that is not in English: for example, the doctor dictates a short English summary at the end. Try the scribe on real visits in your own rooms first, because noise and overlapping speech make any transcript worse. After your first few visits, look at the wallet entries and work out your own cost per consultation rather than estimating it.
